“Bauyr” will participate at the Ciné Junior International Film Festival

Film “Bauyr” directed by Serik Aprymov (JSC “Kazakhfilm” named after Shaken Aimanov ) will take part in the main competition programme of the 24th Ciné Junior International Film Festival which will be held from January 29 to February 11 in French department Val-de-Marne.
Along with “Bauyr” following films will be participating in the main competition programme of the festival this year: “Lilla Anna and her tall Uncle” by Per Åhlin, Lasse Persson and Alicja Björk Jaworski (Sweden), “Anina” by Alfredo Soderguit (Uruguay | Colombia), “Beautiful Life” by Jean Denizot (France), “Talea” by Katharina Mückstein (Austria), “The Days Before” by Karim Moussaoui (France-Algeria) and “The Weight of Elephants” by Daniel Joseph Borgman (New Zeland).
Cine Junior is a children’s film festival aimed at young people. At the end of the festival, the Cine Junior Grand Prize along with 8000 euros are given to the french distributor of the film. The CICAE Prize is awarded by International Confederation of Art Cinemas. The Grain à Démoudre Festival Award is given by the children from 15 to 21 years old. The Young Juries Prizes are awarded by children from 6 to 13 years old.
In 2010, “Kurak Korpe” directed by Rustem Abdrashov and produced by JSC “Kazakhfilm” named after Shaken Aimanov received CICAE Award as well as the Young Jury Prize (the lower sixth form grade classe from Ivry-sur-Seine).
The world premiere of film “Bauyr” directed by Serik Aprymov (JSC “Kazakhfilm” named after S.Aimanov) was held in the Horizons section of 70th Venice Film Festival. Film was also shown in the international competition of the IX “Eurasia” IFF where it took two prizes (NETPAC Award and Best Director Award). Then it was screened at the Vienna International Film Festival. “Bauyr” will also participate in the Five Continents section of the 37th Göteborg International Film Festival which will be held in January this year.
