In Almaty the premiere of “The Girl and the Sea” social drama took place in Kinopark 16 theater ( “Forum Almaty” mall ) with 5 full venues. It is directed by Azizzhan Zairov and Mukhammed Mamyrbekov. Made by ‘Kazakhfilm” studios with participation of “Novyi Mir” ARDI studio due to Ministry of Culture and Sport’s order.

After the film screening the press conference took place. The speakers were members of the team and Assiya Akhtanova, head of “ARDI” rehabilitation center. The patients of the center made the majority of the film’s cast. Leading parts were played by Dinara Sharipova and Takhir Umarov with Kanagat Taskarayev who also played a small part in Emir Baigazin’s “Wounded Angel”. Gulbakhram Baybossynova, a professional actress, played the part of main character’s sister.
- ‘The Girl and the Sea” is a second part of “Endless Possibilities” dilogy that shows the life of young disabled people. Its first part, “To be or not to be?” shows the specific world of these people from the guy’s POV while this second part shows the girl’s POV. ‘The Girl and the Sea” film is based on the true story of “ARDI” center patient Dinara Sharipova, - said film’s director and producer Azizzhan Zairov.
Co-director Mukhamed Mamyrbekov mentioned all the actors did very well on the set. He also mentioned Dinara Sharipova is a very humble and kind-hearted person but still very strong-willed at the same time.
- Dinara lives a full life. She writes novels, does the embroidery and beadweaving. Her craft is exposed at many exhibitions and her paintings are in some private collections both in Kazakhstan and abroad, - said Mamyrbekov.
As a reminder, ‘The Girl and the Sea” film’s production had started in spring of 2017. The principal shooting took place in Almaty. Some of the sequences were shot on the shores of Kapchagay. All in all it took 2 months to make the film.
