    “Dombyra” was titled “Best Film” at the festival in India

    The "Dombyra" short film directed by Ramazan Haliolla won the "Best Film" prize at the 8th Delhi Shorts International Film Festival

    The "Dombyra" film created in 2018 by the "Debut" short films’ department at the "Kazakhfilm" studios due to Ministry of Culture and Sports’ order describes a fragment from the life of a boy playing dombyra (Kazakh national musical instrument). Once back in the day the main character lost his dombyra with which he was supposed to perform in front of the audience and fulfil his old dream. 

    As a reminder, in the summer of 2019, the movie was screened as part of the out-of-competition program of the IV Baikonur International Short Film Festival and received the “Broadway Choice Award” from “Broadway” film news portal. 

    The first International Film Festival in New Delhi was held in 2012. The sponsor of the review is the Indian company Miniboxoffice. This year, the festival’s international jury was presided by the Spanish filmmaker Victor Manuel Lopezmunos. In addition, the jury had producer Victoria Sil (Japan), director Raquel Ruiz (Argentina), director Prashant Segal (India) among its members.

    About the director:
    Ramazan Haliolla was born on May 15, 1994 in Balkhash, Karaganda region.  In 2012-2017, he studied  “Directing, Film and Television Producing” at the Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana city, Kazakhstan.
